After closing its Makati branch on July 1, Old Swiss Inn has moved back into its original Paco address, the same ground floor space beside Paco Park where the restaurant first opened in 1946.
Old Swiss Inn Paco is open again. The restaurant, one of Manila’s oldest dining names, reopened its doors on August 8 at the ground floor of Garden Plaza Hotel & Suites, 1030 Belen St., right beside Paco Park. It is the same building where the brand’s story started nearly eighty years ago, and for the first time since the pandemic, it is serving dine in guests again.
The reopening comes weeks after Old Swiss Inn shut its Makati branch on July 1. For the past several years, Makati had carried the brand’s dine in identity while Paco operated quietly behind the scenes as the group’s commissary, producing frozen goods, party trays, and catering orders. That arrangement has now reversed. Paco is back to being a restaurant, and for now, it is the only one.
Old Swiss Inn Paco Returns to Where It Started
The Paco address is not a new expansion. It is the site where Emil Landert opened the first Old Swiss Inn along what was then Dewey Boulevard, building a menu around Swiss staples like fondue, raclette, and cured meats for a Manila dining scene that had little exposure to European cuisine at the time. Over the decades, the brand added a Makati branch, a bakery, a deli line, and a catering operation, but Paco stayed the anchor.
When dine in service there paused during the pandemic, the space kept running as the group’s main kitchen. Old Swiss Inn Paco supplied the online store, the party tray business, and the catering division, even while the dining room sat closed to walk in guests. That history matters here. This is not a brand testing a new neighborhood. It is a brand walking back into its own building.
What to Expect at the New (Old) Address
Old Swiss Inn Paco is open Monday to Saturday, noon to 10 p.m., and closed on Sundays. The menu leans on the brand’s long running strengths, its steaks, sausages, and Swiss specialties, served in a space that sits directly beside one of Manila’s most recognized landmarks.
Guests who visited during the soft opening window, August 3 to 7, were offered 20 percent off the full menu, including the premium steaks. That preview period has already closed, but the discount gave regulars and first time diners an early look at the space before the full reopening.

A Single Branch, For Now
With Makati closed, Old Swiss Inn Paco is currently the brand’s only dine in location in Metro Manila. Whether Paco stays the sole branch or the brand eventually reopens elsewhere is not something the company has addressed publicly.
What is clear is that Old Swiss Inn Paco now carries the full weight of the brand’s dine in reputation, in the same building where that reputation was built. For longtime regulars who remember the wooden bar and the old world dining room, the return has less to do with novelty and more to do with familiarity. The restaurant did not need to reinvent itself. It just needed to go home.
